Important: If this is your first LPG installation, Peacock Gas strongly recommends that the installation be carried out by a qualified technician from your gas supplier. A trained technician will ensure the regulator, hosepipe, and cooker are connected correctly and safely before use.
What You’ll Need
Before installing your LPG cylinder, ensure you have:
- Filled gas cylinder. Reputable brands include Total, Afrigas, Progas, Safegas, K gas, Hashi, Hass and more
- Compatible gas regulator
- 2-metre LPG hosepipe
- Two safety clips
- Soapy water for leak testing
What is a Gas Regulator?
The gas regulator is one of the most important safety components of an LPG installation. It connects directly to the gas cylinder and reduces the high pressure inside the cylinder to a safe operating pressure for your cooker. The regulator also controls the gas supply by allowing you to turn the gas on and off safely.
Peacock Gas stocks standard regulators, child-lock regulators, regulators with gauges, and commercial high-pressure regulators.

What is an LPG Hosepipe?
An LPG hosepipe carries gas safely from the regulator to your cooker. it is used to connect a Gas Cylinder to the cooker
Peacock Gas supplies hosepipes in:
- 1.5 metres
- 2 metres
- 3 metres
Our complete packages include a 2-metre hosepipe, suitable for most home kitchens.
What are Safety Clips?
Safety clips secure the hosepipe to:the gas regulator. Safety clips secure the hosepipe to:
- The gas regulator
- The cooker inlet
Without safety clips, the hosepipe can become loose and cause dangerous gas leaks. Always install both clips securely.
